Edingley, a description of a Nottinghamshire village by John J. Watts

(John Joseph Watts, 2000) Paperback, £3.50 plus postage and packing.

John Watts is a retired farmer who once described himself to a local newspaper as 'fifty years a lavatory attendant and catering orderly to a herd of cows'. Having lived in the village of Edingley all his life, and having served as a local councillor for forty years, he is in a position to know how the village works and his descriptions of village life are alive and incisive. Having retired he is taking a degree which encompasses, among other things, geology and Middle English. The text of the book, while relevant to this part of Nottinghamshire, has a wider relevance of English village life in the latter half of the twentieth century and how it has developed and kept pace.

Books available from the author who can be contacted on this address.
