Oil was discovered here in 1997 and production started when a second well was drilled in 1998.  Two wells are now producing.

Total reserves are estimated at 300,000 tonnes and 50,000 tonnes were being recovered per year in 2000.   Presumably this figure has fallen somewhat since.

The owner is Cirque Energy (UK) Ltd.

The oil comes from Westphalian sandstone.  It is transferred by pipeline to Welton Gathering Centre.

Note: in 2000, Fiskerton produced approximately 380 bopd

Feb 2006 update

One of the two nodding donkeys was clearly broken; the counterweight had fallen off.  The other was not working when I visited.  However the site appears active.
