The bulls of Medina Sidonia

Sixty thousand bulls die in the ring every year in Spain.   Many come from the breeding estates around this ancient white hill top town.

They have a lovely six years or so before their final day.

The breeders test their fighting spirit in the field.  The cowardly ones go to the abbatoir, the brave to the bullring and the very few bravest of all are spared to breed the next generation.
