To the West of the village of Oxton, in the inverteed "V" formed by the junction of the A614 and A6097 the tiny Oxton beck is slowed by a series of dams.  The resulting chain of lakes are a haven for wildlife.

The upper lake is full of decaying tree stumps.  It reminds me of the Okefenokee swamp!

But the lower lakes are clear

The stream flows over the road at Bean Ford
