The Oxton Southwell Turnpike

Yes, there was such a turnpike.  It was owned by the Leadenham, Mansfield, Southwell and Oxton Turnpike Trust.  It was created in 1759 and remained in force till the latter half of the 19th century.

As far as I can tell it followed the route of the present day B6386.
