Global warming scare mongers all love telling us about how the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro are fast disappearing. 

Scaremonger in chief is Lonnie Thompson.  "The ice will be gone by 2015 or so," predicted Thompson in 2000.  Well we’ll see. 

In the meantime other scaremongers have lost no time showing pictures of the mountain covered in snow in the early 1980s and in 1997.

Certainly looks alarming doesn't it?.  

The only problem is that in 1976 the mountain looked like this.

i.e. not much different to now.   

These are not carefully faked pictures.  They are taken from  an historical site with no relation to global warming, either for or against.  Click here if you doubt me. 

Stay with us.  We’ll come back to Kilimanjaro in 2015.  Only 13 years to wait to see if Thompson is right.
