In August 2005 Andy Nation will be attempting to swim the entire length of the Thames in aid of The Anthony Nolan Trust.  He writes:

“Apparently this feat has never been done before and now I am getting into the nitty gritty of all the logistics involved I can understand why!   I shall be getting some major sponsors involved and inevitably there will be much press, TV and other media coverage.”

He is looking to set up an escort team, or rather a series of escort teams, of canoeists to accompany him down the various sections of the non-tidal part of the Thames.  He hopes clubs will liaise with each other to provide a continuous escort from the start (hopefully at The Roundhouse just west of Lechlade) all the way down to Teddington.

Here is an article from his local paper. Click to enlarge 2004-03-10 WH Times.JPG (257374 bytes)
