In December 2003 Sir Winston Churchill’s funeral hearse was sold by the auctioneers Christies for £5875 to Allan Armstrong the founder of the funeral firm Memorial Woodlands (Click here).   Armstrong restored the vehicle and it is now available for funeral use.

I wish I’d known this earlier.  My father Bob, who died least year, worshipped Winston.  He would have loved the idea of being carried to his final resting place in the same vehicle as his hero.
